Continental Mapping Launches Geospatial Software Division - Foundry
Continental Mapping is proud to announce the launch of its new software division Foundry. Foundry is the embodiment of all the geospatial tools and applications that have been developed for internal use at Continental Mapping over the years. Foundry (thegeofoundry.com) provides a host of geospatial applications for different CAD and GIS platforms.
The initial volley of software applications provide new functionality within Microstation, ESRI and the open source community - QGIS. As an example, WatchDog provides advanced license management for Microstation and GeoSieve offers sophisticated attribute filtering within ArcGIS to ensure geospatial datasets have clean attribution. Each app is very affordably priced and focuses on saving CAD and GIS users time and money by improving workflows.
“Foundry is a new venture for us as a company,” said Paul Braun Vice President of Strategy and Development. “We are growing beyond a traditional surveying and mapping firm to offer software solutions that meet the needs of our clients. Our product road map includes broader software solutions that address topics such as data quality, lidar data management and project management all via the cloud.”
When asked about why the company felt the need to sell software, Development Director Dan Frye didn’t hesitate:
“the value became obvious… After years of successfully solving inefficiencies with helpful tools, the team at Continental Mapping thought the time had come to make some of our best tools available to the public.”
