CSR plc | Cambridge, UK and Sunnyvale, California, USA

CSR plc (LSE: CSR; NASDAQ: CSRE) today announced, together with the Telecom Council of Silicon Valley, that its sixth annual Locations & Beyond Summit, this year called "Locations & Beyond: Mobile Forum", will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Palo Alto, California. The new name reflects this year’s co-sponsorship of the event with the Telecom Council as part of its popular Mobile Forum series. The event will bring together location and connectivity ecosystem leaders, innovators and developers to help set the agenda for the future of location-based and location-enhanced services and technologies. This year, topics of special interest include indoor location technology and the resulting use cases, as well as CSR’s location-as-a-service (LaaS) strategy. More information is available at http://www.locationsandbeyond.net

"Our focus this year on indoor location is aimed at helping industry insiders to chart a course for the current state of the market, identify future indoor location opportunities, and discuss how to leverage them to best advantage for the ultimate end customer," according to Steven Gray, chief technology officer for CSR. "Indoor location has already been acknowledged as a game changer, enabling an abundance of new markets such as asset management, social media, and precision retail marketing, to enhance their efficiency gains. This year, we are especially pleased to be sponsoring the Locations & Beyond Summit as part of the Telecom Council of Silicon Valley’s Mobile Forum series, which will result in a far greater presence of world class telecommunications organisations as speakers and attendees."

"CSR has long been the established leader in location, and the company’s momentum continues to grow, with new technologies such as indoor location being developed continually," according to Liz Kerton, executive director of the Telecom Council. "Because location and mobility are increasingly and inextricably linked, it made sense for us to team with CSR for this event in order to offer our delegates a uniquely informed perspective and an unrivaled forum for location as it relates to the mobile marketplace."

Keynotes and panel discussions will address the following topics:

·         Indoor location: leaders in different technologies will discuss the state-of-the-art and future potential for bringing GPS-like accuracy to indoor locations

·         Retail marketing: understand how advances in location create opportunities for retailers to provide customer loyalty and promotion programs

·         Social media: ubiquitous location provides new vectors for social networking for both consumers and enterprises

·         Asset tracking: explore new opportunities as the market moves from primarily o utdoor asset tracking, such as trucks and containers, to indoor assets such as computers and inventory

·         Cloud/security: as services and data move from device to the cloud, accessing and enabling these will require location information to deliver access.

Fast Pitch Applications Now Being Accepted

One of the most popular elements of previous Summits h as been the Fast-Pitch presentations in which nominated companies showcase their new, innovative products and services – often before anyone else has seen them – in 5-minute pitches. Attendees will get to vote for their favourite Fast-Pitch presentations; winners receive prizes and recognition at the conclusion of the Summit. CSR encourages developers with innovative, location-aware applications to submit an application; there is no fee to enter. Information and application instructions are available at http://telecomcouncil.cvent.com/LBS2012

The Summit Experience

With an unrivaled reputation for attracting industry leaders and innovators, the Locations & Beyond Summit has gained substantial momentum since its start in 2007 as a catalyst for generating ideas and solutions for the future of the location industry. The Summit offers attendees the ability to connect with location ecosystem partners to drive new applications and services for this exciting, rapidly evolving market. Attendance is for executives and key decision makers in order to ensure an intimate setting and to encourage dialogue among all participants.
