Deadline Approaching for USGIF Award Program Nominations

Awards Program recognizes the exceptional achievements of the GEOINT community’s brightest minds.

Herndon, VA, August 22, 2012 - The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation(USGIF) is accepting nominations for its annual awards program through this Friday, August 24. The USGIF Awards Program recognizes the exceptional work of the geospatial intelligence tradecraft’s brightest minds. Work is acknowledged for intelligence achievement and administrative/support, to include government, military and industry; and academic achievement, to include top graduates and R&D. We encourage everyone across the Defense, Intelligence and Homeland Security Communities utilizing geospatial intelligence to apply or nominate a team or individual for an award.

Applications can be downloaded a thttp://geoint2012.com/about/awardsprogram. The deadline for awards nominations is 5 p.m. EST Friday, August 24.

Those selected for these awards receive free registration to the GEOINT 2012 Symposium where their achievements are acknowledged on stage during the general session, in the program guide, on our multiple websites, and in press releases and news articles. Teams and individuals chosen for this honor also receive their own award and certificate to commemorate their achievements. Winners attending the Symposium also have the amazing opportunity to hear the keynote speakers, experience panels and breakout tracks, and discover cutting-edge technologies.

Academic Achievement Award – COL Michael D. Hendricks, U.S. Army 
Research Achievement Award – Albert Yu-Min Lin, Ph.D. 
Government Achievement Award – NGA InnoVision LIDAR Team 
Military Achievement Award – U.S. Army Space & Missile Defense Command EVR2EST Team 
Industry Achievement Award – Gorgon Stare Industry Team, Sierra Nevada Corp.
