Dewberry Announces Promotions in the Washington, D.C., Area

Dewberry, a national consulting firm based in Fairfax, Virginia, has announced the promotions of senior staff:


J. Shane Engel, GISP, based in Dewberry’s Fairfax office, has been promoted to senior associate. Engel has a wide range of experience in the geospatial industry, including database design, web mapping development, transportation routing, geographic information services (GIS) needs assessments, and application engineering. He has managed more than $12-million of geospatial-related projects for local, state, and federal agencies. Engel holds a master’s degree in geography from the University of Maryland, and a bachelor’s degree in GIS and remote sensing from James Madison University.

 

Catherine Bohn, GISP, CFM, also based in Fairfax, has been promoted to senior associate. Bohn has 15 years of experience using geospatial technologies for analysis, application development, and responding to disaster events. She has provided on-site GIS support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), as well as local and state governments. Bohn has extensive experience with GIS analysis, needs assessments, field data collection, and training. Bohn holds a master’s degree in geographical and cartographic sciences from George Mason University, and a bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of Mary Washington.
