Dewberry Announces the Promotions of Three Associates in the Mid-Atlantic

-Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has promoted Cody Pennetti, PE, to associate in the firm’s Fairfax, Virginia, office.

He specializes in site infrastructure design and has more than nine years of experience as a project civil engineer. He has worked on numerous commercial, residential, and institutional site development projects throughout the Washington, DC, area. He is actively involved in the development and testing of emerging design software and technologies and is a firm leader in the use of 3-D design modeling techniques. Pennetti earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Virginia, a master’s certificate in engineering and technology management from George Washington University, and is pursuing his Master of Science in system engineering from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Autodesk Infrastructure Participatory Design Council.

Christopher Simon, PE, CCM, has been promoted to associate in the firm’s Gainesville, Virginia, office. With more than 10 years of experience as a construction engineer, he specializes in traffic engineering, quality assurance/control, and construction management. He is a registered Professional Engineer and a Certified Construction Manager. Simon is also registered as Dewberry’s Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) in Virginia and New York, and oversees Dewberry’s Corporate Safety Program as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Safety Advocate. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Nat Ballard has been promoted to associate in the firm’s Lanham, Maryland, office. With more than 18 years of experience, his project management responsibilities have included zoning document preparation and preliminary design for a variety of mixed-use and residential developments in both Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties. Ballard oversees various project components such as the preparation and coordination of feasibility studies, basic plans, comprehensive design plans, conceptual site plans, preliminary plans, specific design plans, tree conservation plans, and detailed site plans. He is a LEED Accredited Professional of Building, Design, and Construction. He earned an associate’s degree from Catonsville Community College and his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Maryland.
