Dewberry Promotes Stephanie Routh to Associate

Geographic information systems expert promoted while serving firm’s clients in western U.S. cities

Fairfax, VA—May 17, 2017

Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, announced that Stephanie Routh, CFM, has been promoted to associate in the firm’s Dallas, Texas, office.

Since joining the firm more than 13 years ago, Routh has led numerous scoping and discovery sessions; served as the project manager for the firm’s projects with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Regions IX and VI, including Hazus projects; and managed a recent levee emergency action plan project. During her time as a geographic information systems (GIS) specialist, she has worked as an analyst, programmer, and senior project manager. Routh has extensive experience in all aspects of GIS data collection, processing, and application development, primarily focusing on the ESRI suite of products. Additionally, she has experience working with the lidar industry, gathering and processing digital terrain and elevation data around the world.

Currently, Routh is responsible for managing Dewberry’s projects for FEMA in Regions IX and VI and working with local communities in the western U.S., with a focus on Arizona and California.

In addition to earning one bachelor’s degree in geology and another in anthropology, Routh also earned a master’s degree in geography from the Ohio State University. She is a member of the Arizona Floodplain Management Association and the Association of State Floodplain Managers. Routh recently gave a presentation titled, “Why More Communities Don't Participate in the Community Rating System” at this year’s Texas Floodplain Management Association Conference.
