Dewberry Wins Contract to Provide Flood Protection Services for NY State Office of General Services

Fairfax, VA—February 27, 2017 Dewberry, a professional services firm, has been selected by the New York State Office of General Services (NYSOGS) to support an array of flood protection and dam safety engineering and mapping services. The firm is providing floodplain and coastal management services, including risk and hazard assessment; data collection and analysis; GIS mapping and database production; sea level rise analysis; coastal resilience planning and management; and dam safety inspections following government requirements.

A multi-disciplinary approach will be used to address the challenge of flood risk management, providing the opportunity to use data, models, and products across statewide programs including the Bureau of Flood Protection and Dam Safety, the Department of Environmental Conservation, and other agencies to enhance New York’s flood resilience.
