Directions Magazine’s Location Intelligence Summit to Focus on Location Analytics and Include User Events for Oracle, HERE and LocationTech

Nielsen’s chief research officer, Paul Donato, will keynote the event

Directions Magazine announces the agenda for the Location Intelligence Summit 2014, May 19-21, in Washington, D.C. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The theme for this year’s event is Location Analytics and Visual Data Discovery … New Pathways to Business Intelligence.

The Location Intelligence Summit will feature Paul Donato, the chief research officer and executive vice president of Nielsen, the consumer insights company, as its keynote speaker.  Donato has held this position since April 2007 and is responsible for integrating research functions within Nielsen, overseeing the development and evaluation of research, and serving as Nielsen's research liaison to clients and industry associations. His keynote address is entitled “140 Characters to 140 Terabytes.”

Now in its 10th year, the Location Intelligence (LI) Summit features the emerging trends that support the integration of location technology with business intelligence, analytics and location-based mobile applications. Once again, LI will be the host event for Oracle’s Spatial Summit. In addition, LI has added two major corporate partners: HERE and the Eclipse Foundation. HERE, a Nokia business, will provide an exclusive look inside its latest offerings in location content and services at the HERE Summit. The Eclipse Foundation will provide a full day of presentations focused on open source geospatial technology at the LocationTech Summit. This multi-track event will offer a unique business opportunity for corporations seeking to leverage location intelligence for a competitive advantage.

“Our Summit agenda exposes those location technologies that are trending now within the broader LI ecosystem,” said Directions Magazine’s Joe Francica, conference chairman. “As an example, indoor location and positioning as well as open source solutions are opening new possibilities for enterprise solutions and mobile apps, respectively, and will receive substantial attention at this year’s event.”
