Service provides cost savings and easier procurement of storage for government customers

Herndon, VA — (October 29, 2013)DLT Solutions, a leading value-added reseller in government information technology (IT) hardware, software and services, today announced the launch of its new Storage-as-a-Service (STaaS) offering with partnerNetApp  (NASDAQ: NTAP). STaaS is an enterprise-class hardware, software and services solution that combines secure, elastic and dedicated on-premise NetApp® infrastructure with a flexible, pay-as-you-go operating model requiring zero capital investment.

NetApp creates innovative storage and data management solutions that help customers around the world store, manage, protect, and retain their data. NetApp data storage solutions help government agencies simplify the management of growing data while cutting costs by only paying for what they use.

“As the federal market continues to feel the impact of sequestration into FY14, government agencies will continued to be faced with decreasing budgets and need more flexible and economical solutions,” explained Rick Marcotte, president and CEO of DLT Solutions. “The variable pricing option offered by STaaS provides state, local and federal agencies with an easier means to procure storage solutions without having to choose between saving money and acquiring the capabilities they need.”

STaaS allows government customers to align their storage capacity with frequently changing requirements and mandates. Through our relationship with NetApp, DLT Solutions created a variable cost, consumption-based model with flexible payment options to enable acquisition of agile storage solutions. To support customers’ unique and ever-changing storage needs, the offering includes multiple components including: licensing and hardware, storage consulting and assessments, installations and managed services. The service also includes access to the 24X7 accredited DLT Service Center.

“Timing is everything, and we at NetApp are excited about this innovative solution with DLT, which allows us to have a timely conversation with our government customers,” Mark Weber, president, NetApp U.S. Public Sector, said. “Given the fiscal constraints, we are ready to deliver a solution that fits our customers’ needs.”
