Birst's BI Platform Combines and Analyzes Data From Different Source Systems, Frees Resources to Focus on Pictometry's Core Mission

Birst Inc., the leader in Cloud BI, today announced that EagleView Technologies, Inc., a leading technology provider of aerial imagery, data analytics, and GIS solutions, is deploying Birst's business intelligence (BI) platform to gain quick access to enterprise-caliber analytical insight. EagleView will utilize the actionable intelligence provided by Birst to make faster, more-informed decisions and increase sales effectiveness and operational efficiency of its Pictometry Technology, which provides aerial oblique imagery, analytical tools, and solutions.

Birst's BI platform will provide EagleView with a full, integrated BI stack, including ETL, data modeling, data warehouse, and advanced data visualization. Birst's all-in-one solution, which can be implemented and maintained at a fraction of the time and cost required by traditional, 'big BI' solutions, provides users with self-service access to meaningful reporting and analysis -- without dependence on IT. As a result, EagleView will gain the information it needs, while still being able to focus its resources on the organization's top priority: providing customers with comprehensive, customizable, image-based solutions of the highest quality.

Using Birst, EagleView will be combining and analyzing data from Salesforce.com and the organization's production and tool usage databases. Birst's tight integration with Salesforce.com will create a one-stop shop, allowing EagleView's sales representatives to access Salesforce.com and Birst's dynamic reporting using a single sign-on (SSO). The broad range of information provided to EagleView's sales representatives through Birst will include customer usage of Pictometry technology solutions by industry and customer accounts approaching their expiration dates by representative. EagleView will also use Birst to compare actual versus contracted customer usage of its web-based solution, Pictometry CONNECT™, in support of account administration. This detailed customer usage information will additionally enable EagleView to better identify product enhancements to satisfy customer needs. Information provided by Birst will also help EagleView to increase the efficiency with which it utilizes a fleet of more than 70 airplanes that captures aerial imagery and other location-related data incorporated into the organization's suite of solutions. This will enable EagleView to speed completion of customer projects, further enhancing customer satisfaction.

"A good decision is of very little value if it's made a week too late. Birst will provide us with timely access to the information we need to make faster, smarter decisions when they matter most," said Brian Brady, Vice President of Financial Reporting and Planning, EagleView. "Birst will also greatly reduce the time we spend creating reports, freeing people to focus on making decisions that further increase the value we provide to our customers. In fact, we expect that Birst's automated data modeling and overall ease of use and efficiency will allow us to perform our reporting and analysis without an increase in headcount, even as our business continues to expand."

EagleView selected Birst due to its ability to easily combine and analyze data from multiple sources, tight integration with Salesforce.com, and broad range of advanced data visualization capabilities. Birst's flexibility was another key factor in EagleView's decision. With Birst, EagleView will have the option to change from a cloud-only implementation to deploying Birst as an on-premise, virtual appliance. EagleView will also have the ability to embed Birst's industry-leading technology within its customer-facing solutions.

"When it comes to making decisions that significantly boost business performance, timely access to meaningful, accurate information is imperative," said Brad Peters, CEO of Birst. "By delivering enterprise-caliber analytic capabilities via a cloud-based BI platform, Birst dramatically increases the speed and ease with which organizations can access actionable intelligence and improve business results."
