Safe Software and Actian Partner to Continue to Enhance Ingres 10S Geospatial Support

Safe Software and Actian Corporation today announce that as a result of their continued alliance, read/write support for Ingres tables is now a core capability of the FME platform in the FME 2013 Beta. This development simplifies support in Ingres 10S for the additional geospatial formats offered by FME by eliminating the need for an additional FME plug-in, making it easier than ever for users of Ingres 10S to incorporate spatial data with enterprise data.

"Collaboration with geospatial data is now incredibly easy and efficient, making Spatial Data Management more accessible and affordable than ever. Esri customers will benefit greatly from this." says Chip Nickolett, VP of Customer Sales & Services at Actian.

The addition of the Ingres reader/writer as a new capability of FME demonstrates Safe's continuing commitment to supporting all leading spatial database solutions.

"We are pleased that FME technology can increase data accessibility for Ingres users," says Dale Lutz, VP of Development at Safe Software. "Our goal as a company is to break down as many data interoperability barriers as possible and we're always excited to extend FME's capabilities to include support for another database."
