GeoComm Announces the Retirement of Kathy Liljequist, 9-1-1 GIS Industry Expert & Longtime Employee
Through her 19 years at GeoComm, Kathy has worked on hundreds of GIS mapping projects for 9-1-1 applications where she helped develop and implement customized training programs. She holds a master’s degree in Geography, is a certified GIS professional, and has presented at countless state, regional, and national public safety industry conferences. In addition, Kathy has been active in several industry associations including:
- National Emergency Number Association (NENA)
- Association of Public Safety Communication Officials (APCO)
- National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC)
- Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA)
- MidAmerica GIS Consortium (MAGIC)
Kathy has also served on various NENA NG9-1-1 workgroups and was recognized for her dedication to them at the recent NENA Development Conference. She is currently a member of the following work groups:
- Data Management Committee Co-Chair
- Data Management Chair
- NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model member
- Site Structure Address Point member
- Emergency Call Routing Function/Location Validation Function (ECRF/LVF) member
