St. Cloud, MN GeoComm is excited to exhibit at the 2016 Esri International User Conference being held June 27 – July 1 in San Diego, California. We look forward to visiting with you about the latest industry developments with GIS for Public Safety, at our booth number 2030.

In Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) systems, accurate GIS is a requirement since the GIS data will be routing calls to the correct PSAP based on geography. In our booth we will be demonstrating GeoLynx Server which seamlessly connects Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), responding agencies, and field responders. In addition you can learn more about the role of GIS in NG9-1-1 at one of these conference presentations.

GIS for Next Generation E9-1-1: Preparing GIS Data for Next Generation 9-1-1 Data Provisioning
Tuesday, June 28 from 10:15 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in Room 26A
The State of Vermont recently completed a project that implemented a NENA compliant GIS for the State of Vermont’s new Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) system. This session will focus on Vermont’s GIS data assessment process, GIS data development needs, and maintenance processes as well as lessons learned overall. Their project was critical for the citizens and visitors of the state and made Vermont one of the first states in the country to deploy an NG9-1-1 system.

Enterprise GIS for Highway Agencies
Thursday, June 30 from 8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. in Room 24C
This session will outline how highway agencies use GIS to modernize workflows, collec and share data, and use advanced tools for analysis and better decision making. It will also overview the Kansas GIS data improvement project that will result in a statewide GIS dataset used by multiple agencies. Presenters will describe the coordinated efforts to develop a GIS data standard, data remediation efforts, Conflation and Aggregation of roadway data, Design and Implementation of scalable Enterprise Data Management Systems, and the establishment of ongoing maintenance to meet public safety NG9-1-1 and transportation needs.

Emergency Call-Taking and Dispatch Special Interest Group (SIG) Meeting
Tuesday, June 28 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00p.m. in Room 26A
Meet with peers and industry leaders from around the world who are successfully embracing GIS to help them prepare and respond to the demands of Next Generation Emergency Call-taking and Dispatch. Attendees will learn more about the FCC 2015 Ruling on Location Accuracy and Indoor Routing and how the ArcGIS platform is being used to test a National PSAP Boundary map.

See how 3-D mapping and analysis is helping solve indoor routing challenges and watch examples of data management tools in action. Esri will give you a “sneak-peak” at the new ArcGIS for CAD/911 & RMS Industry Platform Configuration, an ArcGIS Online organizational tool that is designed to jumpstart PSAP’s with tools for data management, location assistance, address correction tools, real-time analysis tools, operational viewers, and mobile tools that provide intelligent maps, anytime and on any device. This information, coupled with the new PSAP Industry Story Map will help PSAP managers and staff with tools, templates, and examples of best practices.
