GeoDecisions’ Brian J. Smith Named Vice President

11 July-GeoDecisions, an information technology(IT) company specializing in geospatial solutions, is pleased to announce that Brian J. Smith has been promoted to vice president of commercial sales and delivery. Smith, who previously served as director of commercial solutions, also manages GeoDecisions’ Middletown, Delaware, office.

Smith works with private sector organizations to define, develop, and implement large-scale geospatial-based solutions to assist in maximizing our clients’ profits. He has more than 15 years of experience working on private and public sector implementations and designs for the insurance, retail, manufacturing, logistics, and heath care sectors.

Smith oversees the growth of several GeoDecisions products, including Rapid Response™, a high-speed advanced communications system designed to deliver more than 120,000 phone, email, or text messages per hour. He also facilitated creation of iVision™, an award-winning premier catastrophe risk assessment application using Esri® ArcGIS Server technology for BMS Group insurance clients.

An avid outdoorsman, Smith is a strategic advisor for Fishidy, a leading provider of map-based, on-the-water fishing information and one of GeoDecisions’ first Collaborative Research and Innovation Center (CRIC) initiatives. A featured speaker during the 2014 Esri Business Summit at the International User Conference (UC) in San Diego, California, Smith regularly discusses geospatial technology topics during business partner events, client user meetings, geographic information system (GIS) industry conferences, and educational forums.

Smith holds a bachelor of science in regional planning with a minor in geography and GIS from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He resides in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
