geographIT Awarded Philadelphia SWEEP Contract

Wednesday, May 13th 2009

geographIT was awarded a contract by the City of Philadelphia Streets Department for the development of a Sanitation Streets & Walkways Education and Enforcement Program (SWEEP) Code Violation ArcGIS Mobile Application. The goal of the application is to increase the effectiveness of the SWEEP program by developing an application that will allow the use of mobile devices to issue warning and violation notices, identify locations via Global Positioning System (GPS), auto fill data on property address and owners, and look up the history at the property. These devices would also have the ability to capture photographs for each notice. Mobile printers would also allow SWEEP Officers to issue the notices in the field, including the picture to increase enforceability. The project will be implemented either as a wireless solution allowing for updates in the field, or as a cradled solution where SWEEP officers would be required to synch up their devices in the office.

geographIT will be responsible for the entire software development life cycle including requirements gathering, system design, software development, implementation, documentation, training, and support of the SWEEP system.
