SilverEye 2.3 focuses on support for OpenFlight format, NITF imagery greater than 2 GBytes, as well as improved data exchange between PCI Geomatica® OrthoEngine.
OpenFlight is the leading visual database standard and is a widely used format in the visual simulation industry. It is owned and maintained by MultiGen Inc.With SilverEye 2.3 users can rapidly collect 3D building and texture information directly from high-resolution satellite images or aerial photographs and then export to the OpenFlight format.Visual simulation packages can readily import the 3D building models from SilverEye, adding a new level of realism to simulated scenarios.
PCI's OrthoEngine software is a leading solution for orthophoto production as well as DEM and feature extraction.OrthoEngine and SilverEye both provide support for the Rational Function Model, facilitating rapid orthoimage generation and 3D building extraction from high resolution satellite images.SilverEye 2.3 provides support for the OrthoEngine's RPC zero order bias terms. This results in an improved workflow for users of OrthoEngine and SilverEye since image data employed in OrthoEngine can now be used in SilverEye with the transfer of RPC information.
"SilverEye is a valuable solution for users of visual simulation solutions and PCI's OrthoEngine software" says Mike Pastushak, vice president of sales and marketing at GeoTango."SilverEye 2.3 makes it much easier to share data and improve workflow with these systems."
