Sharing is Caring

The 15th Global Spatial Data Infrastructure World Conference (GSDI 15) is thrilled to welcome Esri, the global leader in GIS technology, and the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST), Taiwan’s top military and civilian science and technology research institute, as Silver Sponsors. GSDI 15, taking take place November 29 – December 2, 2016 in Taipei, Taiwan, will be a unique gathering of professionals working at the interface of spatial data collection and handling, location-based services, territorial planning, open data governance, citizen science, and evidence-based decision-making.

Esri’s GIS software, web GIS and geodatabase management applications enables cities to capture and create an integrated picture of information in the form of interactive maps and reports on desktops, laptops, handheld devices, and in vehicles. Esri helps build smart communities using location based analytics to extract insights from smart sensors & big data. Smart communities create hubs of innovation that connect people with the information and tools they need to make better decisions that improve quality of life.

NCSIST is active in the development of an Intelligent Surveillance System (ISS), advancing the rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) which connects sensors and other electronic devices through the Internet. Another focus area includes the development of the Disaster Prevention and Relief System, a decision support system which includes a unified disaster framework, public resource management, and automatic, real-time public resource-disaster assignment. NCSIST’s work on mini-UAVs is being applied to disaster rescue and joint maneuvers of troops. With the expansion of Taiwan's civilian space program, CSIST has also become involved in the design of various satellite and launch systems, the latter of which have consisted primarily of scientific rockets to study the ionosphere.

NCSIST and Esri both are looking forward to present their latest products and to discuss anticipated future opportunities to support customer value.
