New Cloud-Based Site Provides Scalable Cost-Savings

Norcross, GA,  June 04, 2014

Hexagon Geospatial announces a new partnership with CloudEO, a leading provider of cloud-based geo collaboration platforms. Through this partnership, CloudEO is launching a commercial marketplace for geo-data and applications.

CloudEO is leveraging key technologies from the Geospatial 2014 portfolio, including ERDAS IMAGINE and ERDAS APOLLO. CloudEO is developing a new marketplace that will provide a unique portal for the creation and interpretation for geospatial data. The pilot program aims to dramatically lower the cost of creating new geospatial services by making data widely available through a cloud-based system.

In addition to offering a marketplace for buying and selling geo-data and applications, the pilot will offer a scalable geo-processing platform for developing and distributing geospatial data and services from Hexagon Geospatial – all based on pay-per-use model.

“We are always looking for innovative and cost-effective ways for offering our solutions to a wide range of organizations that need to easily visualize and leverage geospatial data for enhanced decision-making” said Mladen Stojic, President of Hexagon Geospatial. “Though our partnership with CloudEO, we will be able to offer our solutions through a unique online portal in a cloud-based environment, which will further expand the overall reach of our solutions to a wider user base.”

Hexagon Geospatial’s “Subsidence Monitoring Solution” will be available through the marketplace. This solution is ideal for oil and gas companies, enabling them to monitor hydrocarbon production fields. By doing this, organizations can prevent ground subsidence that damages production infrastructure. This solution uses the functionality IMAGINE SAR Intereferometry, as well as key workflows accurately monitor these production fields.

“Today’s organizations require the most nimble solutions for addressing the most significant geospatial challenges,” said Dr. Manfred Krischke, Co-Founder and CEO of CloudEO “Hexagon Geospatial offers the widest range of geospatial data management solutions, which help meet this expanding need. As such, we are exciting to be offering these solutions through our cloud-based portal.”

In addition to providing the applications and geo-data within the marketplace, customers will also be able to purchase ERDAS IMAGINE Professional, ERDAS IMAGINE Expansion Pack, IMAGINE Photogrammetry (formerly LPS), and IMAGINE SAR Intereferometry.

Executives from CloudEO and Brad Skelton, Chief Technology Strategist at Hexagon Geospatial, will be presenting key insights about this new marketplace at HxGN Live 2014.
