Lansing, MI. February 18, 2009 – IDV Solutions® today announced the integration of their Visual Fusion software platform with the Microsoft® Virtual Earth™ Server offered by Vexcel, Microsoft’s geospatial subsidiary. Through this integration, IDV Solutions now offers on-premise advanced geospatial visualization solutions for enterprise and government organizations with the full power of Virtual Earth but without reliance on an internet connection.

The solution is built on the Visual Fusion platform and leverages Microsoft’s Virtual Earth Server, SharePoint Server for geospatial search and collaboration, and SQL Server 2008. This integrated Enterprise 2.0 solution offers advanced geospatial browser-based capabilities behind a customer’s firewall, on private or classified networks. This type of solution is a powerful tool for scenarios such as crisis management where crisis managers can quickly assimilate data from disparate sources and respond to emergency situations in a secure environment.

“We are pleased that IDV Solutions has integrated Visual Fusion with the Virtual Earth Server,” said Gary Salisbury, president of Vexcel. “Leveraging Visual Fusion in combination with our offline mapping and services platform, organizations can now fully utilize their sensitive data on their own secure network in a SharePoint-enabled collaborative environment.”
