IDV Solutions will present a webinar on Visual Command Center (VCC), the company’s innovative, cost- effective security solution, on Thursday, October 13, 2011, from 2 to 3 p.m. EDT. VCC unites data from multiple security devices and data sources into a comprehensive real-time view, enabling security professionals to make decisions and respond more quickly to emergencies.

VCC integrates output from devices like cameras, card readers, sensors, and GPS units into a common operating picture with enterprise data, third-party web feeds, floor plans, and more. All data is visualized in the context of a map, timeline, and analytics. VCC is a solution designed to provide a visual component to the growing field of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM).

VCC is built on IDV’s Visual Fusion data visualization software, and integrates deeply with Microsoft’s SharePoint collaboration software. Visual Fusion is used by numerous organizations in both the public and private sectors to give them a consolidated view of all their security data. The webinar will feature two case studies that highlighting Visual Fusion’s usage in physical security and public safety:

  • Microsoft’s Global Security Operations Centers use the Visual Command Center technology to monitor more than 700 company facilities around the world. The software unites output from about 60 proprietary technologies in a cohesive view, allowing Microsoft security teams to respond to threats and resolve situations more quickly.
  • St. Clair County, Michigan, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security implemented Visual Command Center technology so that public safety agencies along the U.S.-Canada border can share information and coordinate action. In a region that contains an international border crossing, more than forty energy pipelines, numerous petrochemical refineries, and other vulnerable infrastructure, the application enables collaboration among state, local and international agencies; it provides instant access to information they need to respond to immediate crises and plan for potential emergencies.
