Lansing, MI – March 9, 2009 - IDV Solutions today released SpatialWiki, a product to create, store, and share geographic information using a Silverlight user interface inside of SharePoint. SpatialWiki is an important component of the Visual Fusion® Suite of products that combine with SharePoint to create a powerful enterprise mashup platform. SpatialWiki empowers anyone in an organization to quickly and easily create, update, and leverage spatial drawings and content.

SpatialWiki is built on Silverlight 2.0 and Virtual Earth and is deployable within SharePoint or with cloud-based storage, such as SQL Server Data Services. SpatialWiki content can be saved in a SharePoint library as KML and combined with enterprise and cloud-based data in visual mash-ups and composite applications. Saving the content in a SharePoint library provides many other advantages, including version control, search, and general content management. SpatialWiki adds rapid geospatial content creation and collaboration to Visual Fusion in a rich, inviting experience.

“We are excited to offer SpatialWiki as a complement to Visual Fusion or as a standalone product,” says Ian Clemens, Chief Technology Officer at IDV Solutions. “With SpatialWiki any enterprise user can now quickly and easily create geographic content inside SharePoint, and then collaborate with others in updating, refining, and leveraging that content for a myriad of uses. It is truly a game changer in terms of empowering organizations to create and manage geospatial content.”
