Wednesday, March 14th 2012

IDV Solutions has partnered with Microsoft Global Security to create a series of free educational sessions on the benefits of physical security and risk visualization. The series will take place at the Microsoft Technology Centers across the United States, with the first stop on March 20 in Reston, VA in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Each session includes a live demonstration of security visualization using IDV Solutions’ Visual Command Center software, which Microsoft has implemented at its Global Security Operations Centers (GSOCs) . Also included is an exclusive virtual tour of a GSOC and a real-time look into GSOC operations with a Microsoft security expert.

Visual Command Center helps corporations, public safety organizations, and others understand threats that could affect their people or assets, by integrating real-time information from data feeds and security systems in the context of location and time. At the GSOCs, Visual Command Center integrates the gigabytes of data that pour in each second from internal security systems and external data feeds, uniting them in a common operating picture that helps Microsoft Global Security make more informed decisions, coordinate responses, and even save lives.

The full schedule of events is:

  • Reston, VA (Washington, D.C. metro area) on March 20
  • Atlanta, GA on March 29  Chicago, IL on April 19
  • Dallas, TX on April 26
  • Boston, MA on May 8, and
  • New York, NY on May 10.
