-  ISC is pleased to announce touchgeo™, a complete solution that enables mobile data collection for enterprises.  Touchgeo is an open HTML5 codebase that can be modified by developers to accomplish line-of-business data collection needs in the field.   The touchgeo application integrates with Microsoft’s SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2012, SQL Azure and Microsoft Dynamics CRM and provides wide support for modern devices like the iPhone, iPad, Android and Microsoft Surface.   At the core of touchgeo is ISC’s MapDotNet™ UX server technology and their HTML5 map visualization control.

Any government or private organization managing assets or infrastructure over a wide area can benefit from touchgeo.    Touchgeo provides an easy way to expose spatial information and corresponding attributes to workers in the field while providing the flexibility for them to update information over wireless or cellular networks.  That includes updating location information as well as supporting information about the asset. Since location is a key component of asset management, the application is very map centric with a sleek and modern user interface designed for touch.

Coinciding with the product release, ISC also announces that its first customer for touchgeo is the Harris County Engineering Department.    Harris County, Texas is the third most populous county in the United States and the county that encompasses most of the city of Houston.

“Harris County is proud to be the first touchgeo customer,” says Willard Puffer, director of the Harris County Asset Management System (CAMS).  “CAMS is based on ISC’s MapDotNet platform and the addition of the touchgeo component will enable our staff in the field to easily access and update information about our assets and services.  Using this solution, we’ll be able to capture detailed information and photographs about our infrastructure in order to update CAMS in real time,” adds Puffer.

In addition to Harris County, ISC has signed contracts for four other government and private sector organizations for the touchgeo product.   ISC is also working with ISVs and Microsoft Partners to promote touchgeo in targeted industries.
