Maptitude Mapping Software Team Provides Awards & Prizes for AAG Student Paper Competition

NEWTON MA (USA) - The Business Geography Specialty Group (BGSG) of the Association of American Geographers (AAG) announced the winners of the 2017 Student Paper Competition in Business Geography at the 2017 AAG Meeting in Boston, MA. The purpose of this competition is to promote scholarship and written and oral presentation by students in the field. Papers are invited from current graduate and undergraduate students on any topic in business geography including Retail, Real Estate, Financial Services, Insurance, Manufacturing, Transportation, Marketing, Risk Assessment and Risk Management as well as Supply Chain Management and Logistics.

 

The Maptitude mapping software team is proud to have provided corporate sponsorship for the Student Paper Competition. The prizes benefit students in higher education studying geography, with the goal to help develop business geography professionals.

The 2017 winners are:

First place: Joshua Bova, University of North Texas "Effects of Small Retail Business at the Local Scale: A Case Study in Denton, Texas."

Second Place: Joe Tokosh, Kent State University "Creating a Shopping Mall Typology for the city of Pittsburgh, PA."
