June 28, 2017— Matrox® Graphics is pleased to announce that two of their newest products, the Matrox Maevex 6150 quad 4K enterprise encoder and the Extio 3 IP KVM extender, were respectively awarded Best of Show Awards at InfoComm 2017 by AV Technology and Sound & Video Contractor magazines.

Making its North American debut at InfoComm, the Extio 3 IP KVM extender was met with broad industry approval, with the judges from Sound & Video Contractor magazine awarding it the best of show award and noting a lack of any perceivable latency on an IP KVM product. Highlighting the flexible nature of a 4K-capable KVM product operating over standard 1 GB networks, judges indicated how essential the Extio 3 is by simply stating that it’s “just what you need.”

The Maevex 6150 quad 4K enterprise encoder, Matrox’s latest in the highly decorated Maevex line of H.264 encoding appliances, was similarly complimented by AV Technology magazine. Noting the wide set of encoding options available—including up to quad 4K/UHD simultaneous streaming and recording, as well as 4:4:4 sub-sampling support—the judges called the Maevex 6150 a “solidly built” and “easy-to-use, powerhouse encoder.”

“Along with the extremely positive client and peer feedback we received at the show, these awards are further validation of the level of dedication and the innovation that our engineering team brings to all of our products,” said Dave Chiappini, Matrox’s Vice President of Research & Design. “AV-over-IP is a fast moving industry, and we’re glad that we can provide a lineup of products that stand out among the crowd.”

About Extio 3
Extio 3 sets a new industry standard by securely extending a single 4Kp60 4:4:4 video signal—or four 1080p60 4:4:4 signals—along with keyboard, mouse, stereo audio and USB 2.0 over standard Gigabit Ethernet at unprecedentedly low bitrates.

Extio 3 IP KVM products deliver exceptional remote desktop performance and, when combined with standard GigE network switches, create a cost-effective over-IP extension and switching solution, allowing users to securely and instantly switch to any system on the KVM network. Designed to optimize collaboration, Extio 3 provides a secondary H.264 proxy video stream, compatible with H.264 software and hardware decoders, enabling users to view a selected desktop on mobile devices, record it to a network attached storage or to display it on a video wall.

About Maevex 6150
The Maevex 6150 quad 4K enterprise encoder is a plug-and-play appliance, which provides system independence and eliminates the need for additional equipment; simply place the appliance on the desktop, workstation, or rack, and it is ready to use. Integrating seamlessly with standard 1 Gigabit Ethernet networks, Maevex 6150 delivers zero-latency pass-through for real-time output of audio/video content on up to four 4K displays.

Built on the open-standard H.264 codec, Maevex 6150 offers compatibility with all computers, devices, and networks, including the full range of Maevex Series products as well as third-party technologies. The Maevex 6150 quad encoder appliance delivers an unlimited number of streams through third-party technology like streaming media servers, content delivery networks (CDNs), and others, thereby guaranteeing complete control over each network installation.
