National Geography Education Association Celebrates 100 Years
Geography teachers, educators, researchers, and professionals from around the world will meet in Washington, DC, August 6 – August 9 for the 2015 National Conference on Geography Education. A major focus of this 100TH annual meeting of the geography education community is how to prepare students for the interconnected world.

The 2015 National Conference on Geography Education will include over 200 workshops and research paper sessions on topics such as: Geography and the Common Core; Advanced Placement Human Geography; Instructional Geospatial Technology; and the latest research on how students learn to think spatially. The annual conference provides a forum for leaders in geography education to meet, exchange information and ideas that inform national, state, and local programs and curricula. The conference will culminate in the NCGE annual award ceremony honoring forty-seven of the top geography educators, researchers and mentors.
