Nielsen’s Paul Donato to Keynote Location Intelligence Summit 2014

Nielsen’s chief research officer to discuss the applications of social media, big data and the business of location intelligence for a new age of consumer insights

The Location Intelligence Summit 2014 will welcome Paul Donato, the chief research officer and executive vice president of Nielsen, the consumer insights company, as its keynote speaker.  Donato has held this position since April 2007 and is responsible for integrating research functions within Nielsen, overseeing the development and evaluation of research, and serving as Nielsen's research liaison to clients and industry associations. Donato is also responsible for the development of a global network of Nielsen Measurement Scientists and exploring methods to measure media audience and consumer behavior in the changing, converging media environment. Prior to joining Nielsen, Donato served as president and CEO of Kantar Media Research beginning in 1998. From 1993 to 1998, he was senior vice president in charge of media at Audits & Surveys Worldwide. He also serviced as president of the Syndicated Group of Simmons Market Research Bureau for four years and held positions in research at Arbitron Ratings Company.

Donato's presentation is entitled "140 Characters to 140 TB's."

Now in its 10th year, the Location Intelligence Summit features the emerging trends that support the integration of location technology with business intelligence. In 2014, HERE, a Nokia company, and the Eclipse Foundation’s LocationTech working group join Oracle Corporation with user events and workshops, all held simultaneously within the LI Summit. The expansion of the conference has led to a change of venue. This year’s event will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, May 19-21.
