Wednesday, June 27th 2012

Directions Magazine will present a webinar entitled, “What's So Important About Conflation? The Business Case for Utilities.” This complimentary webinar will be offered on June 28th at 2 p.m. EDT and is ideal for anyone who wonders exactly what conflation is, and how it might apply to your geospatial database.

Speakers from RAMTeCH will discuss how conflation applies to private and municipal utilities, telecommunications and cable/MSO operators. Solving critical data management issues in a cost effective way is crucial for maximizing the return on an investment in spatial data. During this webinar, we’ll review four utilities case studies where conflation played a significant role in helping users increase the value derived from their land base. RAMTeCH uses the Nokia NAVTEQ map data in their conflation process.

Key topics will include:

  • Business drivers and challenges associated with gaining conflation project approval
  • Technical considerations and "lessons learned"
  • Long-term maintenance using a syncing tool with NAVTEQ Maps

Speakers:

  • Kevin Mabey, RAMTeCH Software Solutions
  • Billy Buerger, RAMTeCH Software Solutions
  • Michael Buckley, Location and Commerce, Nokia
