Sarah Adams comes to the national mapping agency with 27 years' experience in various sales and management roles for both insurance companies and brokers. She spent the last 13 years at Aon.
Sarah's arrival at Ordnance Survey reflects growing recognition of the value of a geographic context for understanding and pricing risk. Layering information, such as claims histories, policy details and accumulations on digital mapping, can improve the understanding of trends, hot spots and scenarios not otherwise evident from tables of figures or written reports.
Sarah, an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), says: "I am very excited to join Ordnance Survey, the recognised market leaders in complex digital geographic data in Great Britain. The insurance market is rapidly recognising the significant potential of this data, not only to pre- and post-risk analysis, accumulation and catastrophe modelling but also sales, marketing and new product development."
In addition to her industry experience, Sarah gained an Executive MBA on a one-year sabbatical at Ashridge Management College, Berkhampsted.
