They are always looking for new and innovative uses for their data, Ordnance Survey recently launched OS MapFinder, an iOS app designed for outdoor leisure users, and also provided highly detailed mapping for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Their new recruitment scheme has roles available for graduates interested in working with geospatial data, who understand data modeling, or are skilled in software development and coding.

Ordnance Survey’s Head of Human Resources, Nadine Prior, explains: “Great Britain’s landscape is changing continuously and demand for high quality, accurate, mapping data has exploded to meet the demands of a mobile, 24/7 world. We need multi-skilled graduates with a sense of curiosity, and a passion for making a measurable difference to the lives of people.

Working at the organisation’s Southampton head office, the recruits will undergo a two-week induction and structured learning path before moving into their new roles. Salaries start at £22,000, with the potential to rise to £24,500 in three years. To apply for a role graduates should visit the Facebook app on the Ordnance Survey careers page.
