Spatial IT Expert to Lead Development for OpenGeo Suite
New York, NY February 18, 2014 —Today Boundless announced that Paul Ramsey has been named Vice President, Product Management. Mr. Ramsey will be responsible for leading the direction and development of OpenGeo Suite and related Boundless products that serve a growing, global customer base. OpenGeo Suite is already in production at many large organizations, including leading government, telecommunications, defense and other enterprises around the world. These organizations leverage OpenGeo Suite to orchestrate their geospatial infrastructures, allowing them to manage and publish geospatial data; build custom applications to display, edit, or analyze data for a specific purpose or inform business intelligence.
Mr. Ramsey is well known as one of the world’s leading geospatial software technologists. In 2001 he co-founded the widely used PostGIS spatial database project later winning the Sol Katz Award for achievement in open source geospatial software for his efforts. He is also a noted speaker and advocate for open source geospatial technology. In his new role at Boundless, Paul will continue to lead operations in Victoria, British Columbia and further develop that office as an engineering center for the company.
