Pitney Bowes MapInfo, the leading global provider of location intelligence solutions, today announced the launch of its enhanced online software developer community. The new Web site boasts many features that make it easier for developers to share information and conduct in-depth product discussions with other developers and Pitney Bowes MapInfo product evangelists.

Pitney Bowes MapInfo’s developer community Web site features forums where developers and Pitney Bowes MapInfo engineers can exchange information, share resources and connect with other MapInfo product users. The site also provides a download area with free data, product evaluations and product demos.

The enhanced developer community Web site will have several new features, including:
• Code Exchange – Participants can exchange a wealth of information such as best practice papers, white papers and software code samples.
• New product focused communities – One forum is dedicated to Pitney Bowes MapInfo’s location intelligence platform – Envinsa ™. The site also includes a monthly online user group, MapXtreme™ User Group (MUG), an ongoing webinar series dedicated to Pitney Bowes MapInfo’s Microsoft® .NET-based location intelligence platform.
• Code Submission Contest– Developer community users are encouraged to submit code built using Pitney Bowes MapInfo developer tools in its coding contest. The two categories are Organizational Impact or Technical Achievement and prizes range from a Nintendo Wii to noise cancelling headphones.
