Friday, February 5th 2010

St. Charles, IL – The Sidwell Company will host a free, daylong GIS Forum for local government users across the state of Iowa. This event will be held at the Holiday Inn-Airport in Des Moines on February 10, 2010. You are encouraged to join the many who have already registered for this educational forum, which is being held in conjunction with the annual Iowa Supervisor’s Conference.

The theme of this year’s forum is “Making GIS Work for Everybody!” Veteran GIS experts from Sidwell will offer practical lessons and insights on topics such as verifying and protecting the integrity of your GIS data, and how you can make sure your data is not only serving the needs of your office, but also providing tangible benefit to users throughout your jurisdiction. Technical experts from Sidwell will also detail how to prepare for the next important software release from industry leader ESRI: ArcGIS® 10. Additional topics include a discussion of the value of GPS in GIS, and the power that mapping and GIS bring to the process of emergency management and E9-1-1.
