St. Charles, IL – Dickinson County, Kansas, located in the central part of the state, covers an 852-square-mile area. Sidwell previously converted the County’s existing cadastral tax maps to ESRI’s Geodatabase format. After determining the need for updated aerial photography to support their enhanced and improved spatial cadastral data, Dickinson County, Kansas has chosen The Sidwell Company to undertake a countywide photogrammetry project. Sidwell’s team of experts is eager to assist this valued client by providing aerial photography and related services to support the continued growth of the county’s robust GIS, and the County will benefit from Sidwell’s 50 years of experience in the aerial survey field.

Using an Airborne Global Positioning System (AGPS), in conjunction with ground-based GPS survey technology for control, Sidwell will secure spring 2010 color aerial photography at 1-foot pixel resolution countywide, and at ½-foot pixel resolution covering the urban areas of the County. The resulting orthophotography, which will be delivered in late 2010, will be used for a wide variety of planning and GIS applications at Dickinson County.
