Skyhook and Philips LIfeline Join Forces to Develop Location Platform for Mobile Persol Emergency Response System

Skyhook to help ensure that seniors get assistance when and where they need it

Skyhook, Inc., the global leader in location positioning, context and intelligence, and Philips Lifeline, the leading provider of personal emergency response services (PERs) in North America, announced a collaboration to incorporate Skyhook’s hybrid location platform into Philips’ Lifeline GoSafe mobile PERs offering.  Philips Lifeline will be demonstrating the GoSafe system during the 2013 International CES event, booth #26722 in Las Vegas from January 8th through January 11th. 

Skyhook’s hybrid location service will be part of a suite of locating technologies used with the new GoSafe system and designed to help provide Lifeline Response Associates with the location information needed to support locating of users in the event of an emergency.

“Accurate location information is of critical value to ensuring the quick dispatch, arrival and delivery of what is often life-saving assistance,” noted Rob Goudswaard, senior director, Global Product and Service Programs, for Philips Home Monitoring. “After reviewing the market, we concluded that Skyhook’s location network and technology capabilities were consistent with our requirements for enabling timely and accurate response.”
