SI World 2012 to Highlight How Organizations Combine Visual Analytics and Big Data to Drive Business Performance and Operational Efficiency

Space-Time Insight, the leading provider of next-generation situational intelligence solutions, today announced the details of SI World 2012 to be held Nov. 5-7, 2012 at the Omni Hotel in San Diego, Calif. With smart technologies driving a convergence of business and operational functions in many companies, SI World will bring together organizations and experts in the utilities, energy, oil and gas, transportation, federal and other sectors, to discuss best practices and solutions for bridging the gap.

A recent poll showed that situational intelligence, which uses sophisticated visualizations and powerful analytics to bring deep insight to real-time and any other data, is poised to dramatically change the speed and accuracy of decision making, with 85 percent of respondents saying the technology will have some or significant impact on their organizations. Situational intelligence addresses the divide between traditional IT and Operations Technology (OT), merging the business intelligence, operational intelligence, location intelligence, environmental intelligence and social intelligence functions within organizations to facilitate enterprise-wide collaboration and decision-making.

“Whether the goal is to improve operational efficiency, drive revenue or reduce costs, organizations across a wide range of industries are challenged with how to handle massive amounts of data, from many different systems,” said Rob Schilling, CEO of Space-Time Insight. “SI World 2012 will explore the strategies, tactics and technologies that companies have successfully deployed to achieve the goal of transforming big data into meaningful insight to enable better decision-making and building a smart organization.”

At SI World, users and implementers of situational intelligence, industry thought-leaders, and other business and technical experts, will gather for two full days of education and networking. Event highlights include:

  •     Separate business and technical presentation tracks, with topics spanning strategic down to tactical implementation issues, from sound approaches to reducing costs and risk, to how-to sessions for implementing sophisticated geospatial and visual analytics applications
  •     Case studies and demonstrations of geospatial and visual analytics systems for asset maintenance, planning and diagnostics, meter intelligence, logistics, smart grid performance, outages, crises and renewable energy, among others
  •     Keynote presentations from industry and thought leaders
  •     Networking opportunities for executives to share insights and discuss success strategies with peers

As the presenting sponsor of the event, Space-Time Insight invites business, operational and IT executives, managers, analysts and developers to attend. For more information and to register, visit http://si-world.net/.
