Sharing is Caring

Carlsbad, CA – February 29, 2016 – Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative contracted TC Technology to streamline existing maintenance management processes to deliver return on investment through automation.

Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative is a member-owned distribution cooperative providing electricity to more than 51,000 services over some 4,100 miles of energized line in southern Arizona.

Currently, SSVEC uses TC Technology’s MIMS software to perform thousands of inspections. Between 5 and 10 percent require follow-up work. This joint-development project builds on the initial implementation to complete the maintenance management life-cycle.

Kurt Towler, GIS Supervisor, conceived this project to help drive timely maintenance cycles. In time for the summer Monsoon season, field personnel will collect as-built maintenance information for each job. Towler says, “By reducing 6 forms into one smart electronic form, the right information is gathered at the job site.” Completed job data is sent into the appropriate corporate systems, including GIS, to support reporting, analysis, regulatory compliance and key performance indicators.

MIMS, which stands for mobile information management system, targets return on investment by automating paper processes, streamlining tasks, and presenting helpful mapping to field workers and now includes MIMS Mobile. MIMS Mobile is ideal for utilities of any size ready to deploy ArcGIS Runtime. Benefits include fast performance, straightforward mapping, and job integration.
