SuperGIS Desktop 3.1 Selected by Keio University to Improve Ethnology and Archaeology Studies

SuperGeo Technologies recently assisted the department of Ethnology and Archaeology, Keio University in upgrading the latest SuperGIS Desktop 3.1 to improve the efficiency of spatial data processing, develop various mapping applications within multi-subject research, and further stimulate sustainable development of social science.

Established in 1856, Keio University is the oldest private institute of higher education in Japan which possesses ten faculties including Letters, Economics, Medicine, Science and Technology, etc. With the mission of facilitating the delivery of education and trainings, Keio University continues to supply state-of-the-art hardware and software equipment to educators and learners for improving the academic achievements.

The latest SuperGIS Desktop 3.1 offers Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) tool that can help the department of Ethnology and Archaeology integrate and manage massive amounts of spatial and attribute data to understand the social and environmental changes across different time periods and geographic regions. Therefore, the ancient environments can be reconstructed to support in-depth archaeological studies.

Serving as the SuperGeo’s reseller in Japan, Information & Science Techno-System Co., Ltd. (ISTS) provides clients with professional image processing, remote sensing service, and GIS consulting services to solve different spatial problems. In the future, the two parties will work in a close collaboration to widely promote the SuperGIS software to local governments and enterprises, helping encourage the development of GIS industry in Japan.
