Kevin J. Switala, GISP, was named a stockholder of Gannett Fleming, GeoDecisions’ parent company. Based in the firm’s Philadelphia, Pa., office, Switala serves as a vice president responsible for managing company operations, as well as providing project oversight to a wide range of geospatial information technology (IT) projects for domestic and foreign government agencies.

Switala specializes in the application of geospatial IT for emergency management and public safety projects. He provides professional facilitation services for visioning workshops, needs assessments, and strategic planning projects. He also serves as project manager on key public safety projects, as well as project principal on significant public and private accounts.

Switala has been instrumental in leading GeoDecisions’ efforts to successfully penetrate the geospatial IT market in the Middle East, continuing to support multiple engagements throughout the region. These efforts have led to annual requests for presentations on the use of geospatial IT in public safety and national security within the region. He also continues to support the coordination of the firm’s domestic federal business development efforts.

A Certified Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP), Switala has more than 16 years of GIS experience. He holds a bachelor of science in environmental design and ornamental horticulture from Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture and a master of landscape architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.

Active in the community, Switala coaches his children’s soccer teams, in addition to continuing to play in adult soccer leagues. He supports various charitable events, including the annual Scoring Goals for Autism tournament and the TOPSoccer weekend program for children with special needs. Switala also is engaged in his church community, assisting with its youth education and activity programming.
