Murfreesboro, TN- January 28, 2013- When tablets first hit the market a few years ago, everyone greeted the technology as a great device for entertainment, checking social media and consuming information. Fast forward to today and tablets have evolved from purely entertainment devices to ones that can also help people be more productive at the office.

When Wiser Company, an information solutions firm, was exploring ways to invest in technology for its employees, management turned to tablets as the perfect option to enhance the company’s collaborative culture.

“It was important for us to find a solution that made it easier for employees to stay connected and collaborate on projects and ideas,” said Cy Wiser, Founder and CEO of Wiser Company. “Many of our employees already use tablets in their personal lives and we wanted to bring that experience to the office. Our employees deliver great work but also understand the importance of a work/life balance. Giving everyone a Nexus 7 tablet helps them accomplish both.”

The decision to choose the Nexus 7 was driven by management’s desire to find a fun business solution that would help people stay connected and be more efficient. Being able to do basic tasks like checking email is one thing, but the ability to create and share documents while on the go was also important.

Wiser employees are able to use their tablets to create, access and share documents with coworkers or clients thru the cloud service Google Drive. No more waiting to return to the office to create and email files. Information can be created and shared quickly, making collaboration faster, easier and more enjoyable. Wiser employees have appreciated the freedom and flexibility that tablets provide. Tablets have been used to access and share documents when meeting clients away from the office and during offsite team meetings.

Employees have enjoyed discovering and downloading applications that help improve productivity. By finding apps that work for their personalities and work styles, employees can customize their tablet experiences. This personalized nature will impact productivity as employees find and use solutions that work best for them.

“Another great thing about this experience is that while all employees are using the Nexus 7 tablet, the experience will be different for each person,” says Wiser. “The wide variety of apps means that everyone can find apps that suit their individual needs and work styles. Each person will essentially become an expert of their own tablet experience.”

As Wiser continues to develop solutions for its clients, the company is confident that the Nexus tablet will play an important role. “Our employees have embraced everything that the Nexus 7 offers,” says Wiser. “Each day employees discover new apps and ways to incorporate the technology into the work day. Best of all, colleagues are learning from each other and discovering together. And that makes the collaboration and the experience even better.”
