Sharing is Caring

HERE recently teamed with reinsurance giant Swiss Re to look at the growth of car connectivity and advanced driver assistance systems, and how these technologies will improve road safety and ultimately impact the current insurance model.

Among some of the interesting findings:

  • By 2020 there will be approximately 6% fewer accidents as a result of the combination of advanced driver assistance systems and car connectivity.
  • V2V and V2I systems are able to address the causes of more than 80% of all-vehicle target crashes annually.
  • Forecasts predict that within six years, 20 billion USD will be trimmed from annual premiums as a result of increased road safety.
