Trimble’s eCitation Increases Productivity for Pennsylvania Police Department
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Dec. 2, 2015—Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) announced today that the Bethlehem Township Police Department, which consists of 34 sworn officers serving over 20,000 people in Pennsylvania, has implemented the Trimble® eCitation ticketing solution to increase productivity for officers and clerical staff.
“Working closely with the Bethlehem Township Police Department, our team smoothly transitioned the agency from a manual to an electronic citation process,” said Bill Martin, general manager for Trimble Public Safety. “Now our customer can reduce the amount of time patrol officers spend hand writing tickets and optimize operations in the field.”
Trimble Public Safety automated the department’s state approved citation, traffic warning notice and accident information exchange forms. The eCitation solution was tested in three police cruisers for several months before implementing the solution in 16 vehicles. The completed citation is automatically submitted to the agency’s records management system, eliminating the need for clerks to manually enter the data.
“Electronic citation is the solution that our technology savvy officers long desired and our traditional officers welcome,” said Corporal Shaun M. Powell of the Bethlehem Township Police Department. “Our department now has an easy-to-use solution that issues multiple tickets and has led to an increase of patrol and traffic enforcement activities.”
