UK BASED TECH COMPANY ITO WORLD APPOINTS NEW CEO

Johan Herrlin joins from GIS world leader Esri

ITO World (‘ITO’) announced today that it has appointed Johan Herrlin as CEO. Herrlin joins ITO from Esri, the world’s leading provider of geospatial software. He succeeds Peter Miller, the company’s co-founder and current CEO.

“We have appointed Johan to build on and accelerate the successful technical and commercial progress that Peter and the team have achieved,” said Vince Smith, chairman of ITO “Johan has a track record of leadership in both software and data products. This combined with his broad industry knowledge and international experience makes Johan uniquely qualified to lead ITO through its next phase of growth.”

It is in a unique position in that it offers both a streaming transit data service as well as high-end data visualisation software.”

Herrlin joins ITO after 20 years in the software and data industry, holding leadership positions in sales, product management, and product marketing. Prior to joining ITO, he was a company director at Esri, where he focused on product strategy for the billion dollar revenue privately-held software company. Herrlin holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Peter Miller, who will remain on the board, said “I am delighted that we have been able to attract Johan to lead ITO through a major global expansion. It was always my intention to hand-over to someone with strong sector and scale-up skills at the appropriate time, and it is all credit to the wider ITO team that we have reached this important point.”

The selection of Herrlin culminates a search process facilitated by The Up Group, a leading European executive search firm specialising in placing senior executives at digital companies.
