Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Completes Strategic GIS RoadMap Initiative

Richmond, Va. – April 29th, 2012 – The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has regulatory and compliance authority for the Commonwealth of Virginia including Land, Air and Water resource media types. To meet these current and ever-increasing environmental demands, DEQ leverages GIS as a core tool for tracking permitted and regulated facilities, compliance issues, and other data sources to support business workflows. In an effort to continually improve their workflows and maximize their returns-on-investment (ROI) – DEQ hired Timmons Group to assist in the development of a GIS RoadMap.
