IDV Solutions’ new Visual Command Center physical security visualization software will be featured in the Microsoft Global Security booth, the company announced today. The annual Microsoft Worldwide Public Safety Symposium runs from March 13 - 15, 2012 on Microsoft’s campus in Redmond, Wash.

Visual Command Center helps organizations prevent and respond to security incidents to protect people and assets. It unites data from multiple security devices and data sources into a comprehensive, real-time view on maps and floor plans, providing operations command centers with situation awareness and context needed to make decisions and respond more quickly and effectively to man-made and natural emergencies, threats, and events.

IDV Solutions’ Visual Fusion technology, the underpinnings of Visual Command Center, plays an important role helping protect critical infrastructure, citizens, and national security interests in the border region between Michigan and Canada. The company is currently working with the Department of Homeland Security to add Unified Incident Command and Decision Support (UICDS) connectivity to Blue Water Area Resilient, the Visual Fusion application in use by local, state, provincial, and national public safety agencies in the United States and Canada.

IDV Solutions’ software was chosen for Resilient in part for its scalability, extensibility, and ability to be connected to systems and data from a variety of security system and hardware vendors. Metropolitan, state, and federal agencies are able to connect to a wide variety of systems and devices such as 911 dispatch, weather, radiation detectors, license plate readers, camera systems, traffic, patrol vehicle GPS, and more using the Visual Command Center Application Programming Interface (API) and Software Development Kit (SDK).

“In an era where government budgets are tight and expenses are closely scrutinized, Visual Command Center stands out for its excellent return on investment. It helps public safety agencies streamline operations, gives an open and clear technology roadmap for the future, and has the flexibility to change with the needs of the agency,” said Scott Caulk, Vice President or Product Management, IDV Solutions.
