Yotta Brings Harmony to Welsh Highways with Mayrise Software

Sharing is Caring

Welsh local authority Caerphilly County Borough Council has awarded a number of contracts to asset management technology company Yotta. Designed to harmonise applications across the Council’s Highways and Transportation function, Caerphilly Council is working closely with Yotta’s experienced consultants to implement Mayrise Highways and Mayrise Street Works software. Yotta won the contracts, following a competitive tendering process, based on system performance, price and support services.

Caerphilly Council is already a user of Mayrise Street Lighting and Yotta’s visualised asset management platform Horizons. It is hoped the newest Mayrise systems will further support the Council in the maintenance and management of the carriageway and footway and the provision of street lighting and other highway related functions and assets.

“Our primary requirement was for a modern, cost effective and easily operated yet comprehensive software solution across both the Street Works and Highways functions,” commented Stephen Hodges, Principal Engineer at Caerphilly County Borough Council. “And, following a competitive procurement exercise, this is exactly what we now have.”

“The wider use of Mayrise software within the Highways and Transportation function will allow us to build on existing improvements to working practices, including the wider roll out of mobile working, and collaboration with neighbouring authorities who are also users of Mayrise software. We can also prepare for any potential future changes to wider local government in the long term,” continued Steve.

Caerphilly County Borough Council, and one of its predecessors Mid Glamorgan Council, is a long term user of Mayrise software with Mayrise Street Lighting in place for more than twenty years. The latest implementations of Mayrise software are designed to harmonise the Highways and Transportation functions within a single supplier framework. The decision to upgrade existing management systems and implement both Mayrise Highways and Mayrise Street Works was based on the cost effectiveness of the solutions on offer, system functionality and the Council’s confidence in the product development lifecycle and the support services offered by Yotta.
