“We are very excited about this product, not only because of the new Intel technology that has gone into this box but also the HP technology that has gone in as well. The new chip set is the Intel 875P, which is a step up from the 533 Mhz front side bus of today up to an 800 MHz front side bus and the Double Data Rate (DDR) 400 memory. These two things together offer absolutely tremendous memory bandwidth on the system,” said Josh Peterson, HP Product Manager. “The DDR 400 memory bandwidth is about 6.4 gigabytes per second because it is a dual channel memory. No longer is memory a bottleneck with this system architecture.”

The HP xw4100 supports Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional
and Windows XP Professional and Red Hat Linux will be available in June.
The suggested retail price starts at $799 and more information can be found
