Do you have questions about how to get your GISP? Do you have your GISP and want to know how to renew? Would you like more information on how the GISP can help you in this job market? Wondering what professional standards of practice are supported by GISCI? This webinar will answer those questions, and more!

The webinar will focus on the reasons to become a GISP as well as the actual process of doing so, including some upcoming changes to the certification process.

Topics to be covered include:

  • How is the GISP affecting the job market?
  • Why is all the documentation required?
  • What if I forget something or the reviewers have questions about my application? Do I lose my $250?
  • I need to renew but the original application was so difficult I may not qualify now. What should I do? What does it take to renew?

Join GIS Professionals (GISPs) Sheila Wilson, Julian Beglin and Susan Erline White for a discussion on obtaining and renewing your GISP. Wilson is the executive director of the GIS Certification Institute. Beglin is the chairman of the Outreach Committee and senior engineer/project manager and GIS specialist at H.F. Lenz Company. White is a member of the Outreach and Application Review Committees, and works for the City of Fort Worth, Texas in the Planning and Development Department’s IT Section on the GIS team.
