Learn how customers in defense and intelligence, public safety, national security, utilities and  media organizations like the Associated Press (AP) use GeoEye’s new EyeQ platform to quickly access massive volumes of imagery for crisis response, national security and environmental monitoring applications.

The GeoEye EyeQ platform is a secure, online geospatial data discovery and dissemination service that enables users to stream and download high-resolution satellite and aerial imagery to gain precise, real-time insight into our changing world. This year alone, GeoEye’s partners have used their imagery to respond to global crises: the tragic earthquake and tsunami in Japan; deadly tornado outbreaks in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Joplin, Missouri; and devastating flooding along the Mississippi River.

The platform gives end users the ability to manage geospatial projects and access the GeoEye online imagery catalog to select and process the multi-source imagery they need for public dissemination or sharing within their organization. EyeQ is designed to enhance imagery access for both long-time geospatial professionals and first-time users.

The AP will participate in the webinar by providing a case study describing its use of EyeQ in news. The AP is a global news network that delivers news in the form of text, photos, graphics, audio and video from every corner of the world to thousands of newspaper, radio, television and online customers. The Associated Press is the essential global news network, delivering fast, unbiased news from every corner of the world to all media platforms and formats. Founded in 1846, AP today is the largest and most trusted source of independent news and information. On any given day, more than half the world's population sees news from AP.

Key learning points include:

  • How anyone, even someone with no geospatial technology experience, can quickly use EyeQ to search, view and access high-resolution satellite imagery acquired by a multitude of sources
  • How the GeoEye EyeQ platform differs in function and application from Google Earth Builder
  • How EyeQ can be used to identify and track changes on the Earth’s surface related to the natural environment and man-made infrastructure

Who should attend?

This webinar is appropriate for anyone who manages land, natural resources or infrastructure or who is responsible for obtaining geospatial information as a part of news gathering, national security, disaster response or environmental monitoring activities. This webinar will be of special interest to members of the U.S. National System for Geospatial Intelligence and other federal personnel, who are given free access to EyeQ under an existing license with the U.S. government.
