Monument Mapper -- Summit County Engineer
19 January, 2006

Industry:  Local Government, Topographic/Elevation Data, Surveying, Open Source GIS

Brief Description: The first effort using GoogleMaps. The application allows surveyors to find monuments in the area where they are working. One limitation: if there are more than about 50 markers on the map, it is REALLY slow in Internet Explorer. Modern browsers (Firefox) are not so bad, but so many people use IE that I decided to limit the hits. If you don't see any markers, zoom in till you do.

Server-side technologies: Coldfusion, Python

Server-side applications: GoogleMaps, Summit County Engineer SPC to GCS webservice

Database technology:  SQL Server

Commercial GIS Software used: None
